Fellow Drammers!
Our Portland members know this distillery well - a group of us even went and visited the distillery before our last meeting in March, and we’re thrilled to be able to do a larger event so that all our members can learn more on September 10th, starting at 8pm Eastern, 5pm Pacific. These folks make incredible whiskey, and our scotch-centric friends will be happy to know their emphasis is on premium single malts. And we’re thrilled to welcome their head distiller and blender Miles Munroe. They’re pulling out the stops for us, check out this lineup:
New Make - Yes! We always ask for it, but so rarely get to try it. This is not available anywhere, they’re just doing this as a treat for us, and we think you can learn so much from what a good new make tastes like, can’t wait!
Westward - American Single Malt: The face of the company, this single malt is their flagship.
Westward - Oregon Stout Cask Finish - if you haven’t had it before, this is incredible, and makes you wonder why more distilleries aren’t making whiskey from higher-end beers…
Westward Pinot Noir Finish - this has not yet been released nationwide, so again our friends at Westward are hooking us up here. That said, I’ll admit I’ve tasted it, and it is awesome.
Westward Astor Wines Barrel Pick - of course our club originated at this store (check out our About Us page for more details), but that’s not why we selected it, rather we picked it because Miles and the team see it as truly a unicorn barrel out there.
That’s our lineup! Excited to work more with this distillery, we had actually been working on a group distillery tour for our Portland chapter which of course had to be put on hold because of covid. But hopefully soon!
