Drammers Club was founded in 2013 when a collection of the top whiskey buyers at Astor Wines & Spirits in NYC would get together at a local Chinese restaurant each month to open up a couple bottles of rare whisk(e)y and sometimes other spirits. We split the cost of the bottles, ate Chinese food, and became great friends. And we’re doing more or less the same thing now, just on a larger scale. Today we have nearly 1300 members that get together once a month in 15 cities around the world, from Los Angeles to Mumbai, but the spirit is the same — we still source rare bottles of whiskey, mezcal and other spirits (from our members, collectors, auctions etc.), split the cost and make sure to leave plenty of time to hang out with each other. And over the years we’ve been very fortunate to host so many of the great master distillers, brand ambassadors, whisk(e)y authors, and other industry leaders from around the world as our guest speakers.

Our goal is to build a global network of like-minded people who can appreciate a good drink, and to continue to build that into a real community, so that if you get off the plane anywhere in the world, you’ve got drinking buddies waiting for you. Recently, we expanded our efforts to include exclusive barrel picks for our members and an after-party program to celebrate great cocktail makers. We’re also looking to expand our group trips where members from different chapters can travel together — like our annual trip to Oaxaca for Day of the Dead to celebrate the great mezcal masters that we’ve done the last 3 years.
