Fellow Drammers!

We had been working on an event for our Denver chapter members to visit the Stranahan’s distillery just as covid hit, and since then we have been licking our lips for an opportunity to do something with them. They’ve got a surge of special releases coming up and so we’re thrilled to announce that on Tuesday October 6th at 8pm EST / 5pm PDT we’ll be hosting their head distiller Owen Martin, who will lead us on a virtual tour of the distillery, while we taste through some stuff that I assure you — you will never get another chance to try these. Check out this lineup:

  • 2019 Snowflake: Mount Bross. This is their annual, insanely sought-after release, the one that people wait in line for weeks for the opportunity to buy one bottle when its released. And here, all you have to do to try it is sign up for our event!

  • Blue Peak - Their newest release will hit stores towards the end of September, a great introduction go Stranahan’s and American Single Malts.

  • 2018 Cask Thief: Stolen Sips - “Foed for Thought” - available only at the Cask Thief festival back in 2018

  • 2018 Cask Thief: Stolen Sips - “StranaBon” - available only at the Cask Thief festival back in 2018

  • 2018 Cask Thief: Stolen Sips - “The Married Barrel” - available only at the Cask Thief festival back in 2018

  • Sherry Cask Single Malt Whiskey, aged for 4 years and finished in Spanish Oloroso sherry casks, 47%

If you’re not familiar with Cask Thief, it is Stranahan’s annual Summer festival, usually held in June featuring barbecue, live music, and a chance to try a handful of special one-off barrels available only that day (a handful of VIP attendees are given the opportunity to buy one 375ml bottle of them. So when we say that they are seriously hooking us up letting us try 3 of these bottles from the 2018 festival, we’re not joking. Btw, Stranahan’s released announced that they will be holding this year’s Cask Thief festival on October 10th and 11th, so we’re going to be heading out in person, hosting a Drammers Denver get together (outside, socially distanced, bring a mask) on Saturday October 10th, and then attending the festival proper on Sunday the 11th). A handful of tickets are still available if anyone wants to join in the fun. But if not, our Drammers virtual event on Oct. 6th is definitely the next best thing, we hope you can join us!
