Fellow Drammers!
We’re excited to announce our next Drammers Book Club event will take place on Thursday, May 27th at 8pm EST with Matt Strickland, the author of Cask Management for Distillers, which was published on August 21, 2020. The book is available online (both ebook and hardcover format), and members are encouraged to pick up the book on their own. We’re also putting together an optional sample pack, and of course since Matt works as the Master Distiller at Distillerie Cote des Saints in Quebec, we’re seeing if we can’t include some (or a bunch!) of fun samples from his distillery. If not, we’ll put together some fun samples that exemplify good cask management. And it’s great to be able to welcome Matt to Drammers. He was formerly the head of R&D for the great Corsair Distillery, and from 2015 to 2018 he was the head distiler at District Distilling in Washington DC. Since 2018, he’s been Master Distiller at the Cote des Saints distillery in Quebec, where he focuses on single malt whisky, with a heavy emphasis on cask management.
We’re still finalizing the lineup, so when we know the exact bottles, the cost of the event may drop, in which case we’ll refund the difference to anyone who already signed up. We figured it was better to get the event up as early as possible so that everyone has time to plan (and read the book!). The book is approximately 183 pages.
