We are delighted to welcome Danny Kahn, the master distiller at Barton 1792 Distillery as our guest speaker on Mar. 23rd at 8pm EST. This distillery shocked the world last year when their 1792 Full Proof was named the number one whiskey of all categories anywhere in the world. The distillery has a storied history, founded in 1879, and it was acquired by Sazerac in 2009 from Constellation Brands. Our guest speaker, their master distiller, joined the company shortly before, in June of 2018, coming from a long and distinguished career in the brewing business, including 4 years as the Brewery Technical Director at Sierra Nevada, and over a decade before that at Annheuser-Busch, including 5 years as their Senior Brewmaster. The distillery has been raising its profile since the Sazerac acquisition, focusing on special limited/premium releases, though I can’t imagine anyone saw winning best whiskey in the world this quickly.
We’re still finalizing the lineup now, so fair warning this may change, but we’ve already secured the very rare 225th Anniversary bottling of 1792 plus a fun single barrel pick of the Full Proof, and we’re very confident the lineup will include the Sweet Wheat, the 12yo, the High Rye and Small Batch expressions as well. We’ll keep this updated as we continue to finalize the lineup. In the meantime, feel free to register now!
