During our spotlight on PM Spirits event a couple months ago, this elite Austrian l’eau de vie brand really emerged as the one we wanted to focus on next.
Rochelt distillery, founded in the 1970s in Austria, produces arguably the most rare, high end and limited release fruit brandies in the world using the most premium methods known. For example, using their methods, a release might require over 175 pounds of fruit to produce a single liter, etc. They let the fruits ferment naturally, and then use longstanding regional traditions (“Tyrolean”) to mature the distillate as “gently and slowly as possible”. The result is eye-poppingly tasty, which helps explain why their bottles are so expensive, with even 375ml bottles selling at over $500/bottle for some expressions.
That makes this a very rare opportunity to taste through 8 expressions in their lineup, which we're able to provide at cost at $160/person. Given the time difference to where they are located in Austria, the distillers won't be able to join us live, but they are going to pre-record a distillery tour for us, walking us through their process as one of the most unique distilleries in the world. Even better, Nicolas Palazzi and Leo Comercio will lead the discussion during the tasting, which is exciting in its own right. Here are the 8 expressions that will be included in the tasting:

Please note that since the sets are quite expensive and we will need to have it be full to be able to provide the event at cost at $160/person, we’ll be confirming registrations in sets of 15 people (i.e. if we get 19 signups, we’ll have to cancel the last 4 since we won’t be able to justify buying another set for 4 people). In other words, first-come-first-served and we’ll keep everyone updated as we go.
