DC Drammers!

We’re excited for our next Drammers DC event, which will take place on Monday, January 25th, at 7pm on the roof at that incomparable shrine to whiskey, Jack Rose Saloon. We will be capped at 20 people, all seated, socially distanced, and of course please bring a mask. But with these limitations, we’re ecstatic to get back together in person, especially at Jack Rose, and especially to welcome as our guest speaker Tim Heuisler, the brand ambassador for Jim Beam. They have truly pulled out all the stops — thanks to Tim and the team at Jim Beam, they’ve rented the space, secured food for everyone, and are contributing some of the greatest Jim Beam bottles ever. We’ve secured a few fun bottles at auction ourselves, which combined make for one hell of a lineup. Check it out:

  • Booker’s 25th Anniversary bottling, one of the greatest Jim Beam releases of all time, and today it sells for thousands of dollars a bottle in the rare instances it comes up at auction. Two words for you - mint. chocolate. That’s all we’re going to say. Mint. Chocolate. Yum.

  • Jim Beam Distiller’s Masterpiece, finished in PX Sherry Casks. This premium release has long since been sold out.

  • The Famous “Bowling Pin” Jim Beam Dusty. Of all the amusingly-shaped Beam dusties, this one (which mercifully is NOT in a ceramic bottle), is one of the most sought after. We’ll have the actual bottle in hand on Monday, but presumably the usual 6 years old, 86 proof. And we’ve got 3 more serious dusties in the lineup…

  • Jim Beam 200th Anniversary Edition Decanter. Founded in 1795, this special edition bottle was released in 1995 and today commands quite a hefty price at auction (a quick search online shows these regularly going in the $1,300/bottle range, occasionally less). 95 proof.

  • 8yo Beam’s Choice. Another fun dusty, this “Beam’s Choice” proudly announces that it is “charcoal filtered”. Judging from the etching on the bottom of the bottle, we’re guessing it was bottled in 1973. 90 proof.

  • Jim Beam 1.5 liter Jug. This massive (presumably porcelain) release was bottled in 1982 for the Italian market. aged 4 years and bottled at 80 proof. Definitely one of those bottles we’ll be tempted to keep after its empty, it’s a fun looking bottle for sure.

That’s our lineup, and it’s truly magnificent, hard to imagine much of a better lineup than that (it features both of the headliners from our online Jim Beam event last Fall, for example, plus several additional rare bottles).
