Fellow Drammers!
I’m delighted to report that we’re hosting a tasting this Saturday, Feb. 15th at 7pm for our good friend and longtime Drammer Robin Robinson, in honor his new book “The Complete Whiskey Course”. Robin was actually the very first guest speaker we had back In 2016, and he’s been a regular ever since, and he happens to be one of the most knowledgeable (and entertaining!) people about whisk(e)y I’ve ever seen. He was kind enough a mention of our club in his book, and we Of course jumped into action to help promote it – we’ve already done book launch events in Portland, NYC and Stamford, and have upcoming events in a bunch of cities, including Princeton, Washington DC and Charlotte — and now LA! Since this is a fairly last-minute event, my plan is to pour some BIG bottles, including a 1971 Stitzel Weller (pre-Pappy Van Winkle!) that we’re opening up in NYC this week. So, assuming it survives the trip, I’ll bring the remaining half to NYC, along with half a bottle of George T. Stagg 2013 release and some other bottles for us to share, and of course everyone will get a book signed by Robin! A big thank you to Sam Green for hosting.
