Fellow Drammers!
On Sunday, December 20th at 3pm EST, we’re hosting our 3rd annual Drammers Murder Mystery Holiday Party online this year, and it’s going to be a doozy. In addition to being a lot of fun in its own right, it’s our small annual thank you to our industry friends who give us so much all year. So for once, we’re inviting all our industry friends to participate as our guests, we’ll assign them a fun character, send them a sample pack of whiskey and other spirits, and we ask nothing in return (though a silly costume is highly encouraged!). The last two years of this have been amazing, and we’ll have to dig up the amazing video where Joshua Hatton was the “victim” at the game last year, and the awesome photos from the year before when Naomi from The Balvenie “murdered” Colin Spoelman from Kings County, ha! Happily, a lot of our industry friends have already confirmed they’ll be joining, so even though its online, in some ways it will be even better, since we’ll have some of our friends joining from Europe and abroad that otherwise wouldn’t be able to participate in person!
For the rest of us, you’ve got two options. to give our members around the world the option to join in, you have two options — you can sign up for the game and we’ll send you the samples, or you can sign up for just the game (in which case we trust you can secure some fun stuff to drink on your own!). As for the samples, it’ll be a set of 5, including a fun treat - Old Havana, a long since discontinued Cuban whisky. We don’t know a ton about it to be honest (40% abc, possibly discontinued in the early 1990s?), but we saw 2 bottles pop up at auction over the last year, and our curiosity got the best of us. The other four are all new Drammers-exclusive bottles, including our 20yo Single Malt Scotch Distilled in Sutherland and bottled by our friends at Thompson Bros., our High West American Prairie Bourbon finished in a Rivesaltes wine cask, the new Abel Martinez Espadin mezcal (technically, “agave distillate”) that was rated the #1 new espadin by the NY Times last year, and our wild and crazy Copper & Kings gin matured in a sherry cask.
MORE INFO ON THE GAME ITSELF: A HOLIDAY PARTY THROWN BY EDGAR ALLEN POE AT HIS DILAPIDATED MANSION!
You have received an invitation to a raven party at the Poe Mansion in the gloomy crime-ridden city of Wraith’s Cove. The town gossips are chattering about the disreputable people on Eddie Poe’s guest list. What could Eddie be thinking? Could it be that Eddie has finally gone mad? It appears that at least the Poe Mansion’s in dire need of assistance. Ever since Eddie’s housekeeper quit, the estate is in shambles. Nevertheless, you are intrigued by the thought of a Gothic dinner party held in honor of a fiendish bird – even if the group of ruffians may cause chaos. Chaos can be fun sometimes, right? This is where your story begins.
Every participant will be assigned a character (silly costumes highly encouraged!), and the game will take place on a fun new video interface platform that we’ve been testing and think it’ll work perfectly for our party (not Zoom, details to come!).
