Fellow Drammers!

We have some exciting news — Buffalo Trace’s Master Distiller Harlen Wheatley will be returning to Drammers Club! We last welcomed him in person back on April 28, 2018, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome him back for a Zoom tasting on Wednesday, December 2nd, starting at 3pm Pacific / 6pm Eastern. Last time we welcomed Harlen, we sourced the very rare first-ever release of George T. Stagg. This time, we've blown that out of the water 100-fold. Our headliners in both SET A and SET B are epic, and SET B is headlined by arguably the best William Larue Weller ever released (2014 ed., only a little over 3,000 bottles released, all at 70.1% abv!). And to honor the incredible history of many of Buffalo Trace’s other brands, we’ve tracked down a startling number of rare long-gone releases, including a Eagle Rare, and more tax stamps than you can shake a stick at. Most of the bottles in the lineups for both SET A and SET B are not available anywhere. Check out our lineup (UPDATE: SET A is sold out, but we still have a few sets of SET B left):

POUR #1:

  • Both sets will start with their core range Buffalo Trace - we’ll use this as a reference point as we go along.

POUR #2:

  • Set A - Kosher Kentucky Straight Bourbon (Rye Recipe) 47% abv

  • Set B --Kosher Kentucky Straight Bourbon (Wheat Recipe) 47% abv

POUR #3:

  • Set A - "Old Stagg" 6yo from 1960s European Market

  • Set B - Old version of Eagle Rare 10yo (approx. 1980s)

POUR #4:

  • Set A - O.F.C 1994, 1 of approx. 880ish bottles

  • Set B - William Larue Weller 2014, 70.1% abv, 1 of approx. 3,933 bottles

POUR #5:

  • Set A - Old Charter 7yo (dusty / tax stamp, Italian market) 40% abv

  • Set B - Old Charter 101 (I believe this is still in production only out of the US market, not clear which markets its in) 50.5%

POUR #6:

  • Set A - Ancient Ancient Age 10 star (dusty)

  • Set B - Ancient Age (old dusty for European market, probably Greek), 40% abv

POUR #7:

  • Set A - Benchmark "Premium Bourbon" dusty (has a Maryland tax stamp on it, so pre-1984) 43%

  • Set B - Benchmark dusty, probably 80s, still says McAfee on it, 40% abv

That’s our lineup, we hope you can join us!

Cheers!
