Fellow Drammers!
We’re excited to announce that George Wills, the Director of Sales and Marketing for Kilchoman, will be joining us on Thursday, January 28th at 7pm EST. It is the smallest distillery on Islay, having begun production in December of 2005, the first new distillery to be built on Islay in 125 years. It uses barley grown on site at Rockside Farm, which is malted at the distillery, as well as Port Ellen maltings. It is one of 6 distilleries that is still working with traditional floor-malting and to our knowledge is the only Islay distillery that does all of its whisky making on Islay.
We’re still finalizing the lineup, but we’ve already secured some fun bottles at auction to spice things up, including:
an early Spring 2010 bottling, so bottled less than 5 years after the distillery began, 46% abv, to give us a sense of how the spirit has evolved over time
A distillery-only bottle, distilled in 2011, bottled 2016, sherry finish, bottled exclusively for the Kilchoman Distillery Shop
their 2018 Feis Ile (the Islay festival) bottling, an 11yo, bourbon barrel matured, 55.5% abv, 1 of 744 bottles
Machir Bay
Sanaig
100% Islay 10th Edition
Fino Matured
Small Batch #3
Machir Bay Xmas Edition
9yo Single bourbon cask for NY Cask 794
We’ll update this when we know more of the lineup, but wanted to let you know the good news right away so you could make plans!
Cheers,
