Fellow Drammers!
I'm sure most if not all of you already know our guest speaker for next Sunday, August 9th (starting at 3pm Eastern / 2 Central / Noon Pacific). Raj Sabharwal, one of the founding partners of Glass Revolution Imports, has been a regular supporter and guest speaker at Drammers Club for many years. He imports so many of our favorite brands, and in the past we've done them separately -- you'll recall that it was thanks to Raj that we were able to host Ashok Chockalingam of Amrut when he was in town from India, among many other great events. Well, we thought it would be fun to take a step back, and do a blowout event, to get a broader picture of the spirits they import.
We won't be able to try all of them, of course, but in addition to some of the greatest hits of some of the brands that are closest to our hearts here at Drammers Club, like Blackadder, Amrut, Murray McDavid, etc., we'll get a chance to try some of their rockstar brands that are a little farther afield. After all, although we definitely *mostly* drink whisk(e)y at our club, we do celebrate other spirits too, so next Sunday we'll get to try 6 serious whiskies, plus one of the high-end releases from their Drouet cognac, and their celebrated Mahon gin from Spain.
And since Raj has generously donated a big chunk of the lineup, we're able to do this event at cost at $45/person. Collector alert -- for 3 of the pours, you'll get commercially made minis that are just awesome, not to mention 50mls each, so bigger pours than usual to save plenty for later. - 30yo Jura 1988 - Blackadder Raw Cask Statement (single oak hogshead, 50.2% abv, 1 of 208 bottles)
- 19yo Mortlach - Murray McDavid, 50.4% abv (finished in 1st fill chateau Talbot, 1 of 238)
- 2012 Caol Ila in a Marsala Cask, 48.9% abv (1 of 330 bottles)
- Blackadder's Puff Adder (small batch bottling of blended malt scotch, 46% abv)
- Amrut Fusion 50ml Mini-Bottle! 50% abv
- Amrut Single Malt 50ml Mini-Bottle! 50% abv
- Drouet Hors D'Age Cognac - Paradis de Famille, 42.3% abv.
- Mahon Gin 50ml Mini-Bottle!
