Are you sitting down? On Saturday, August 15th, starting at 3pm Eastern / 2pm Central / Noon Pacific / 20:00 London / 21:00 Europe, our club has the great honor of welcoming the leadership team at the great American distillery of premium bourbons and rye — Michter’s! We will welcome their Master Distiller Dan McKee and their Master of Maturation Andrew Wilson as guest speakers, and they have put together an incredible lineup (details below). Of course, we weren’t about to show up empty-handed, and we have secured 2 bottles of their unicorn bourbon release, the 20 year old Michter’s Bourbon!!!!! That’s in addition to an incredible lineup, including the following:

Entry Proof Exercise – We will taste Michter's US*1 Rye (which is entered into the barrel at 103 proof and bottled at 84.8 proof) vs. Michter's US*1 Rye distillate which was entered into a barrel at 125 proof (note: this is not commercially available) and aged for the same amount of time in the same warehouse, and then cut to Michter's US*1 Rye proof (84.8 proof).

  • Michter’s US*1 Rye Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Rye entered at 103 proof

 This is exactly the kind of nerdy exercise we love here at Drammers Club, and we absolutely cannot wait to hear Dan and Andrea reflect on the differences between these two entry proofs. Plus we’ve got 7 more whiskies from their portfolio we’ll be trying as well:
