You’re invited to join us on Saturday, October 24th (starting at Noon Pacific / 3pm EST in the US and 20:00 in Scotland) for a special online tasting with the Master Distiller of the Glen Grant Distillery - Greig Stables. Longtime Drammers will remember we had the honor of doing a series of events with his predecessor, the legendary master distiller Dennis Malcolm, who had an unheard of 63 years in the industry. Our last event with Dennis was in March of 2024, shortly before he retired. Greig was appointed as the new master distiller a few months later, and has started to make his mark at this historic distillery that dates back to 1840 in the Speyside region. For this tasting, we’ve dug up some rare old bottles at auction, as well as some of their biggest most recent releases, and a brand new expression that has just arrived. Specifically, the event will feature:
1960 Glen Grant — Aged for “over 8 years” and released in the Italian market, 40% abv.
1988 Glen Grant - Aged 5 years and again released in the Italian market, 40% abv
Glen Grant 25yo - At over $750/bottle msrp, this is a rare treat. This is the 2024 release, matured in ex-oloroso sherry casks and ex-bourbon barrels. 46% abv
Glen Grant 18yo - Aged in ex-Bourbon barrels and remade hoghead casks. 43% abv
Glen Grant 15yo - Batch Strength 1st Edition, matured in 1st-fill ex-bourbon casks, non-chill filtered. 50% abv.
Glen Grant 12yo - I believe this is matured in ex-bourbon and oloroso sherry casks, but we’ll have to confirm with Greig. 43% abv
