You’re invited to join us for a special tasting of ultra-rare bourbon and rye on Monday, November 23rd at 5pm Pacific / 8pm Eastern. Our guest speaker will be Bill Binder III, the founder of Binder’s Stash, which has been making waves recently with the release of a series of highly-sought-after single barrels of bourbon and rye distilled at the Willett Distillery! This is all very new — Willett announced they had entered into their first-ever long term brand partnership with Binder’s Stash in June of last year (2025). According to the announcement, “The partnership gives Binder’s Stash exclusive access to Willett’s highly sought-after inventory, including experimental mashbills and limited barrels, advancing the brand founder Bill Binder’s mission to create deeply expressive, high-end whiskeys with unmatched provenance. “They’ve agreed to sell us some of their really special aged whiskies, which I find kind of hard to believe myself” says Binder.”
How on earth did that come about? Apparently the partnership started when Bill was starting his brand and asked Willett’s master distiller Drew Kulsveen for some advice. “We had an issue with our bottling — our wax was never great,” Binder says. “People who had our whiskies knew you had to pull out a really sharp knife to get the wax off. So Drew said, Come on down here, and I’ll show you how we do our wax. Then he said, Wait. I have an even better idea — why don’t we just handle this for you?” The result is something akin to an independent bottling of Willett Family Estate single barrels, which are some of the rarest (and, frankly, most expensive) releases on the market.
