Fellow Drammers,
On Saturday, March 7th at Noon Pacific / 3pm Eastern, we’re thrilled to welcome back Jason Cox, founder of 5 Sentidos, the independent bottler who pioneered the space of uncertified mezcal (“distillate of agave”). We had the pleasure of joining a trip to Oaxaca to meet with some of Jason’s most remote producers, including some producers who ferment mezcal in cowhide! We selected two exclusive batches for the club, and partnered with our friends at Meander Art Bar (who host our events in Baltimore) for a 3rd batch that they selected. There were also several ultra-exclusive batches that only yielded a handful of bottles, which we were able to secure some bottles for this tasting. In total, we’ll be tasting 10 expressions:
Marteno con Espadin by Tio Pedro and Lalo Barriga, 1 of only 40 bottles released, 47.8% abv ($116.99)
Tobala y Coyote by Benigno Garcia, 1 of only 40 bottles released, 48.0% abv ($118.99)
Bicuixe Verde by Javier Vasquez Lucas, 1 of only 58 bottles released, 49.6% abv ($123.99)
