Hello Denver Drammers!
You’re invited to join us for a special tasting on Sunday, March 29th at 7pm with Joel LeVangia, the founder and General Manager of Tenmile Distillery for his first event ever in Los Angeles! If you haven’t heard of the Tenmile Distillery, don’t feel bad — although they have been making American Single Malt in upstate New York for over 6 years now, but since they were determined to wait until the whisky was sufficiently matured, they’ve been basically a secret until now. And we’re thrilled to be able to introduce you to them!
Tenmile is an important new distillery based in New York that is serious about American Single Malt (they don’t make any other type of whisk(e)y). The distillery was founded in 2017, first started making whisky in 2020 and only released their first single malt in 2023, only in New York, and they’ve only just gotten their first distributor out of New York in the last month or so. Everything they do is made in-house at their distillery in Passaic, New York, even using locally-grown barley (as in 30 miles away) that is malted in New York. To accomplish all this, they brought in a heavyweight distillery, Shane Fraser, who was formerly the Distillery Manager at GlenFarclas for 6 years and again at Wolfburn for 6 years! And now their whisky has come of age and they’re starting to roll it out to the world. Needless to say, here at Drammers WE ARE EXCITED! The lineup for this event will basically be the best Tenmile tasting lineup ever — 11 expressions:
