Hello New Jersey Drammers!

We’re delighted to announce an exciting new tasting in Allendale on Friday, Mar. 28th at 7pm with a guest speaker who is near and dear to our club — Anthony Levenson is the brand ambassador for Teeling Irish Whiskey, and he’s agreed to come present an impressive array of their releases. A big thank you to Peter Doris for hosting (72 Homewood Avenue in Allendale). If you’re not familiar with Teeling, they have been leading the charge in the explosion of new Irish whiskies since their founding in Dublin in 2015. Dublin historically was the epicenter of the Irish whiskey scene until the industry collapsed in the early 1900s — at one point reduced to one distillery in the Republic of Ireland (Middleton, which makes Jameson, Red Breast, Green Spot, Powers etc.) and Bushmills in Northern Ireland. The Teeling family turned this depressing situation around almost single-handedly, first building a contract distillery in Riverstown (the Cooley distillery in 1987) and then when they sold that to Beam Suntory in 2012. Their decision to take the proceeds from that sale to build the new Teeling Distillery in Dublin was monumental - the first new distillery in Dublin in over 125 years! We are big fans of the distillery and have had the pleasure of hosting their Master Distiller a few times over the years. Check out our lineup for this event:
