Hello Minneapolis Drammers!
On Wednesday, March 18th at 7pm, you’re invited to join us for a special tasting with Andy Westley, the Master of Whiskies for the Foley Family Group, which includes two of our favorite distilleries: the Loch Lomond and Glen Scotia Distilleries. In addition to making an annual pilgrimage to the Glen Scotia distillery each May for their big annual Campbeltown Malts Festival, our club has hosted countless online and in-person events with these distilleries over the years, and we’ve selected 5 single barrels exclusive to our club. We’ll taste one of those at this tasting, along with some of their core range bottles, a special distillery-exclusive bottling that we brought back from Scotland and some of their releases available here in the US. Our guest speaker will lead us through a tasting of these great Scotch whiskies, and we could hardly ask for a more informed (and fun!) guest speaker to guide us through them. Andy Westley is one of tiny handful of people who have been certified as a Master of Whisky (last we counted only 12 had been awarded this title over the years), and it is truly an understatement to say that if there was anything you ever wanted to know about Scotch (or really any whisky for that matter), here’s your chance! The lineup may change a bit (if it does, no doubt it will only get better!), but is currently expected to include:
