$70.00

Fellow Drammers!

As part of our commitment to exploring the world of independent bottlers, we’re thrilled to invite you to join us for this special online tasting with Calum Leslie, the founder of the independent bottler Living Souls. We’ll be tasting the following 6 expressions:

  • 40 Year Old Blended Scotch.‍ ‍This release is a unique 40yo which was laid down to marry in 1998 in a refill sherry butt. Take a sip and you’ll find yourself sitting at a picnic table by the edge of a forest, the remnants of a burnt-out fire nearby. The table is laden with a variety of tropical fruits, their vivid aromas blending with the fresh, earthy scent of the forest. Each breath you take is a refreshing mix of wild, woodsy freshness and ripe, juicy fruit, creating a serene, natural escape into the wilderness.  Batch #1, Cask: Refill Sherry Butt, 41.2% abv.

  • “Ninety-Nine & One” - Blended Scotch. Calum describes this as “a phenomenal ‘3yo’ blended Scotch and came about due to a happy accident where a hint of grain met a heavily peated island malt.” He can’t say which distillery of course,so ultimately who knows — but if you search online, you will see it is widely reported that this is 18yo Ledaig that was accidentally teaspooned with a drop of grain whisky! Cask: 1st Fill Bourbon, 46.3% abv.

  • Ledaig - Aged 18 Years. But wait, wasn’t the last one a Ledaig 18yo effectively? Yes, but this is completely different (different maturation plus the mystery of single barrels etc.). Batch #1, Distilled at the Tobermory Distillery. Calum describes this as “"a wonderfully rare combination of 18yo Ledaig and Tobermory single malts.” Cask:‍ ‍Refill Butts & Hogsheads, 41% abv.

  • 15 Year Solera Blended Scotch. Batch #1. Per Calum “This release is a lively 15yo blend drawn from our solera system where we continually add exciting new whiskies. Take a sip and you'll be whisked to a twilight dinner in coastal Spain, your skin still tingling from the day's sun. The table is set with a bottle of sherry, tapas-style meats and grapes nestled on the plate, all capturing the casual opulence of a shore-kissed evening where every taste is a memory, every moment an echo of the sea's embrace. Cask: Solera System, 46% abv.

  • Balblair 10yo. Limousin Oak XO Octaves. Tasting Notes from Calum: This exceptional single malt “transports you to a grand library. The rich scent of leatherbound books mingles with the warmth of aged oak furniture. Savour the nose of sultanas and candied oranges as you settle into the room’s calm sophistication. On the palate, creamy butterscotch and toasted oak envelop you in comfort, while the buttery-smooth finish with a hint of spice lingers like the warmth of a crackling fire.” 46% abv.

  • Torabhaig 7yo. Calum describes this one as“a bold single malt from Torabhaig distillery on the Isle of Skye, matured in 1st fill bourbon barrels. A sip takes you to a late summer BBQ by a misty Scottish loch, where the scent of smoked ham hangs in the cool air and laughter echoes off the hills. Flavours of burnt sticky marshmallows and roasted almonds fill the air, creating a sweet and savoury contrast that lingers. This is a dram made for long evenings, full of flavour and lively conversation.  Cask: 1st Fill Bourbon, 51.5% abv.
