We have assembled very possibly the ultimate Auchentoshan tasting on Sunday, July 12th, starting at Noon Pacific / 3pm Eastern in the US and 20:00 in Scotland, and you’re invited to join us! As I write this, we just spent the last week in Scotland where we spent considerable time with the blending team from Suntory, which of course owns Laphroaig, Bowmore, Ardmore, Glen Garioch and yes, the Auchentoshan Distillery, a lowlands distillery built in 1823 that today is famous for being one of the few Scotch distilleries using triple distillation. While we were in Scotland, we hatched this plan, assembling an extraordinary lineup of 10 Auchentoshan single malt Scotch whiskies, 7 of which are very rare distillery exclusives including one of their biggest releases ever — the 200th anniversary single cask bottling. To guide us through these great whiskies, we’re honored to welcome as our guest speaker the lead blender for the Auchentoshan portfolio, Diane Flynn. She makes up 1/3 of the blending team that oversees the entire Suntory portfolio of Scotch and Irish whiskies, which as you can imagine, is no small task, and so it is a very special and rare treat to be able to take up this much of her time to tell us all about this incredible distillery and how she goes about creating these whiskies.
