Hello London Drammers!
Our next Drammers London tasting will be Tuesday, February 17th at 19:00, and a big thank you to our friends at Little Violet Door for hosting us (address: 9 Kingly Street, Carnaby, W1B 5PH). We’ve got a great lineup of whisky and other spirits that we’ll be tasting, which are listed below, and your ticket also includes some light food that we’ll order in from Little Violet. Here’s the lineup:
Tumblin Dice 8yo Rye Whiskey Finished in Laird's Applejack (Brandy). It is somewhat surprising that so few people have collaborated with Lairds (one of the oldest and most significant distilleries in the USA). Leave it to Dave Schmier to fill the gap, taking his award-winning rye and finishing it in Laird's Applejack casks. Yes, the whisky is sourced (likely from MGP), but as Dave would say, "Sourcing is not a crime", ha. A limited edition 10 barrel blend. 59.45% abv.
Creetown - Independent bottling of Scotch, 13yo Blair Athol (ex-Australian Red Wine finish)
Angels Envy - Cellar Collection Vol. 5 (Tequila Cask). This limited special edition from Angels Envy was priced accordingly (MSRP of $270/bottle). Aged initially for 7 years, followed by another year in Extra Anejo French Oak casks and then blended with an 11yo rye. 52.1% abv.
Whistle Pig 10yo Canadian Rye Single Cask. Keeping the rye theme going, our newest Drammers single barrel pick (#108) is a 10yo Canadian rye whiskey from our friends at WhistlePig. You'll be one of the first chapters of the club to try it. Barrel No. 210905, 55.5% abv.
The new High West - A Midwinter Night’s Dram. Act 13, Scene 8. A blend of straight rye whiskeys finished in port barrels, 49.3% abv. Stunning stuff, as usual.
Rezpiral Uncertified Mezcal: Pencas de Arroqueno by Simeon Ramirez. Our 10th Drammers Rezpiral Pick! A mezcal of Arroqueno leaves only — just the leaves, the “pencas” not the pinas, crazy.
Two New Single Barrels of Found North Canadian Whisky - These are our two newest Drammers single barrel picks! Found North is the hottest Canadian whisky company to come along in a long time, and their releases rarely even touch a shelf in the United States. We recently selected these two single barrels, both bottled at cask strength made from a mix of Canadian rye, Canadian corn and Canadian barley whiskeys. One is finished in a Madeira cask, the other in a cherry liqueur cask.
Proof & Wood 2/3 - Single Barrel Jamaican Pot Still Rum. 55.6% abv.
That’s our lineup, we hope you can join us!
Cheers,
Charlie, Adi, Ange and Drammers Club
