Hello Chicago Drammers!
We’re thrilled to invite you to a special tasting with Madhu Kanna — a rare chance to meet with Madhu while he is in town from India. Madhu is the Head of International Business and global brand ambassador for Indri Single Malt Indian Whisky, produced by Piccadily Distilleries in Haryana, India. Indri has emerged in the last few years as one of the hottest and fastest-growing new “world whiskies” on the market, and Madhu himself is a delight. Our club has had the pleasure of hosting events with Madhu for many years dating back to his previous role at the Paul John Distillery, and he is both a lovely person and a wealth of knowledge. The company makes both whisky and gin, and we’ll be trying pretty much everything. The tasting will include:
A welcome cocktail featuring their Camikari rum
Camikara Rum, Aged 3 Years
Camikara Rum, Aged 8 Years
Indri - Indian Single Malt “Trini” (details here), which as the name implies is matured in three types of casks: first fill bourbon, ex-French wine and PX sherry casks.
Indri - Indian Single Malt “DRU” (details here), cask strength, ex-bourbon cask, I believe 57.2% but don’t hold me to that.
Indri - Indian Single Malt “Agneya” (details here), matured in sherry and bourbon casks.
