Apr. 28: Drammers Washington DC -w- Springbank's Director of Sales and Marketing - David Allen......
Hello Washington DC Drammers!
We’ve got huge news! Springbank Distillery is one of the most revered, sought-after Scotches in the world and they rarely host in-person tastings here in the US. How rarely? Let’s just say that while our club proudly hosts an online event with them every year, and visits their distillery each year for their annual Campbeltown Malts festival in May, it’s still the case that in the 13 years that our club has existed, this is going to be our first ever in-person tasting with them. Needless to say, we’re pretty darned excited. So, on April 28th at 7pm in Washington DC, you’re invited to join us for a special Springbank tasting with the distillery’s Director of Sales and Marketing, David Allen, who has been with the company for over 11 years, gradually working his way up to this lead role for sales and marketing overseeing the Springbank, Longrow, Hazelburn and Kilkerran portfolios. Springbank fans will hardly need a reminder that ANY bottle of Springbank can be hard to come across, so it is with great pleasure that we announce this truly extraordinary lineup:
17yo Kilkerran 20th Anniversary Bottling
Kilkerran 12yo (all Kilkerran is distilled at the Glengyle Distillery, which is owned by and sits next to Springbank)
Longrow 18yo - for those not familiar with Springbank’s sub-brands, Longrow is their heavily peated variant, and 18yo Longrow is very hard to find indeed.
Longrow Red - This much-loved expression is aged in Pinot Noir casks.
Springbank - 15yo
Springbank 12yo
Springbank 10yo - Matured in Amontillado Casks
Campbeltown Loch - a blend created by the Springbank team, incorporating whisky from all 3 Campbeltown whisky distilleries (Springbank, Glengyle and Glen Scotia).
We hope you can join us. And since this happens to fall on Charlie’s birthday, let’s just say we wouldn’t be surprised if there was a surprise bonus pour or two. :)
Cheers,
Charlie, Joe, Heather and Drammers Club
