Hello NYC Drammers!
We are throwing a farwell party for our longtime friend and fellow Drammer Anthony Levenson on April 27th at 7pm. Anthony has long been part of the fabric of our NYC chapter, and while we’re happy for his next adventure (he and his wife are moving to Japan), we will certainly be sad to see him go. Most of you already know Anthony, but for those who don’t, he has had an incredible career in the spirits business (in addition to being a great guy generally!). He started his career working with the Wigle distillery in Pittsburgh, and then in NYC worked his way up to running the spirits program for Roma Wine and Spirits, building it into one of the great liquor stores in NYC. In recent years, he has transitioned to the advocacy side as the brand ambassador for Teeling and the Bacardi single malts (Aultmore, Aberfeldy, The Deveron, Craigellachie and Royal Brackla).
Well, as you would expect, Anthony has too much whisky to bring with him to Japan, so we’re jokingly calling this our first Japanese diaper fundraiser, ha. We’re buying a bunch of fun bottles out of Anthony’s collection to help send him on his way. The lineup is actually quite remarkable:
