We’re excited to announce a very special tasting on February 17th (starting at 5pm Pacific, 8pm EST) with Joann Street, who is both the brand ambassador for Wild Turkey and the granddaughter of Wild Turkey legend Jimmy Russell. This event has been a longtime coming — and no doubt members will have noticed the huge year of Wild Turkey we had last year, where our club selected our very first Russell’s Reserve Bourbon single barrel, and were able to secure allocation of the Russell’s Reserve 15yo, Russell’s Reserve 13yo, Russell’s Reserve Single Rickhouse and more for our members. This tasting will feature all of those pours, plus a very, very special headliner. We secured two bottles at auction of one of the rarer Wild Turkey bottlings ever released — the 1980s Wild Turkey Wedgwood Decanter bottling. Here’s the ful lineup, 10 expressions total:
Wild Turkey Wedgwood Decanter Bottling. Released ~1980. 50.5% abv. At auction these go for between $2,000 and $3,000 a bottle these days.
Russell's Reserve 15yo. Named by Fred Minnick (among others) as the overall best whiskey release of 2024. 58.6% abv. We’re told this is a blend of 75% 15-year-old, and 25% 16-year-old bourbons.
Russell's Reserve 13yo. Limited edition annual release (this is the 2024 bottling), aged 13 years, bottled at 114.8 barrel proof.
Russell's Reserve Single Rickhouse 2024. This is the highest proof of any Rickhouse release so far. The single rickhouse in question is Camp Nelson B (in 2022 it was Camp Nelson C, and in 2023 it was Camp Nelson F). No age statement, but on rick #6, right in the middle, and we know they fill the barrel at 115, and it was bottled at 120.2, so that indicates it's a little older (last year was reportedly 14-15 years old).
Jimmy's 70th anniversary bottle. Special 8yo Bourbon release in honor of the legend that is our guest speaker’s grandfather! 101 proof, blend of 8 and 9 year old barrels from Jimmy’s favorite warehouses.
Jack Rose Pick - Private Selection Single Barrel Rye. Aged 8 Years, Distilled May 17, 2016, Bottled Oct. 15, 2024, Warehouse Tyrone-Q, Floor 5. Selected by our friends at the great Jack Rose Saloon. 50.5% abv
Drammers Exclusive - Russell’s Reserve Single Barrel 9yo Bourbon “I Like Bob”. The barrel we selected was distilled Oct. 1, 2014, dumped on May 14, 2024 and bottled on June 11, 2024. Barrel #23-0035, aged in Warehouse TY-K, Floor #4, aged 9 years, 7 months, 13 days. Bottled at 55% abv. The barrel yielded 186 bottles.
Plus: Rare Breed 101 Rye, Wild Turkey 101 Rye and Kentucky Spirit Single Barrel.
