Sep. 19: Stauning Danish Whisky - Barrel Pick!...

Fellow Drammers!

We’ve been talking about doing a barrel pick with our friends at Stauning since the day we first tasted their whisky, and that day is finally here! This will be an online tasting, on Sunday, September 19th and Alex Munch, their co-founder will be joining us live from Denmark (and some of us will be joining live from the Kentucky Bourbon Festival!). Everyone who signs up will participate in the barrel pick, and since we have limited samples (500ml), that means we’ll cap attendance a little lower than normal. For our barrel pick, we’ll be choosing from 8 samples - 2 peated, 6 unpeated rye samples. Everyone who participates will also get a pour of an early private cask pick they did that we picked up at auction, it was 3 years old to the day and bottled in January of 2020, cask #888, bottled at 52.1% abv (single malt whisky, new american oak, 32 liter, 1st fill, which was bottled for Cask888.dk). And we’ll throw in a random bonus pour for fun.
