Hello Baltimore Drammers!

We’re thrilled to invite you to a special tasting with the Director of Sales for the Isle of Raasay Distillery, Scott Fraser, who will be in town from Scotland. The Isle of Raasay Distillery is an exciting new-ish distillery that was founded in 2014, and they’re already releasing incredible whiskey. At this tasting, we’ll be trying their 6 components that make up their flagship Single Malt Scotch, plus the flagship itself and a single cask:

To make their whiskies, they first mature their spirit separately in first fill Rye whiskey, fresh Chinkapin oak and first fill Bordeaux red wine casks (a peated and unpeated of each). These six recipe casks marry together to create a peated and an unpeated expression. Btw, fun fact: the team behind the Isle of Raasay Distillery is also starting production on building another distillery — the Machrihanish Distillery in Campbeltown, which is the first new distillery in Campbeltown in a long time).

We hope you can join us! We’ll order in light food (likely pizza, included) to try to make sure nobody is drinking on an empty stomach, and of course (as always) arranging a ride home is strongly encouraged. Please let us know if you have any questions.
