Jan. 22: Online Mezcal Tasting with Rezpiral Founder Alex White......

On Wednesday, January 22nd starting at 5pm Pacific / 8pm Eastern. We’re thrilled to welcome back Alex White, the founder of Rezpiral, an independent bottler of mezcal and agave distillates. We have long been enormous fans of what Rezpiral does — building relationships with many of the top mezcal producers in Oaxaca, and (unlike any other mezcal bottler we know of, giving back 30% of the profits as a revenue share with the producers (you can read more about their revenue share for 2024 here). We have worked with Alex to select numerous batches of mezcal exclusively for Drammers Club, including batches from legends like Berta Vasquez, Reina Sanchez, Simeon Ramirez, Aureliano Hernandez and more. This year we selected a new ensamble blend from Reina Sanchez, a blend of jabali, madrecuishe and cuishe agaves, and we also brought in the entire new range of releases from all the producers Alex has worked with in the last year. We’ll be tasting through 10 of these expressions as this tasting:

• Alejandrina - Ensamble of Jabali, Mexicano, Espadin and Cuishe

• Berta Vasquez - Arroqueno

• Reina Sanchez - Ensamble of Tobaziche, Arroqueno, Madrecuishe

• Alejandrina and Nicolas Hernandez - Ensamble of Cuishe, Bilia and Espadin

• Aureliano Hernandez - Arroqueno

• Leonardo (San Baltazar Guelevila) - Coyote and Tobala

Many of these producers we’ve had the pleasure of visiting in Oaxaca and selecting batches from them for the club in the past, and a few will be new to us (in particular Luis Antonio and Leo.
