Fellow Drammers!

We’re very excited to announce a special event on December 16th at 5pm Pacific / 8pm Eastern with Nicole Austin, the Head Distiller and General Manager at Cascade Hollow Distilling (makers of George Dickel Tennessee whiskey and formerly the George Dickel Distillery). This is an event we’ve been preparing for for over a year, collecting rare bottles at auction to make sure we can give Nicole a proper Drammers welcome! We’ve secured a bunch of bottles that the club is contributing below, and we’ll be getting details soon from our friends at Cascade Hollow on what they’ll be providing — described to us so far as samples from the remnants of some special unreleased single barrels, but don’t hold us to that). Drumroll please…

  • Bottled in Bond Release #1 - Fall 2008. Nicole launched into her role at Cascade Hollow with a gigantic bang — her very first release, the first edition of an annual Bottled-in-Bond series in 2019, was named the coveted “Whiskey of the Year” award from Whiskey Advocate across all categories. A huge accomplishment. We immediately squirreled away a bunch of these bottles to save for this event!

  • Bottled in Bond Release #2 - Fall 2005. The second release in the series, released in 2020. It will be fun to compare these 3 releases, speaking of which…

  • Bottled in Bond Release #3 - Spring 2007. The third release was only recently released.

  • RX Bourbon 6yo. Released for the European market, don’t know a ton about this one. We’ll have to ask Nicole and the team about it!

  • Dusty guessing 1970 - Old No. 12 Brand. Bottled for the Italian release, we’re guessing it was bottled in approximately 1970, but could easily be wrong. Tax stamp intact.

  • 14yo Single Barrel. This was bottled for Park Avenue Liquor in 2013, and made quite a stir at the time, so we were thrilled to be able to scoop one up at auction last year. 53% abv.

  • Merle Haggard Porcelain Jugg, Old No. 8 Brand. This might even be the rarest of the bottles we secured at auction. Dickel created this release in connection with their sponsorship of the 1987 Merle Haggard tour. It certainly looks cool. 40% abv.

  • [Plus what our friends at Cascade Hollow are contributing — we’ll include details when we have them].

We hope you can join us! Please let us know if you have any questions.

Cheers!
