Fellow Drammers!
Our next Drammers Oaxaca meeting will be Saturday, October 30th at 2pm, and our friends at Puro Burro have again generously agreed to host us. We’ve had a bunch of great Drammers Oaxaca events throughout the year since we launched last December, but this will of course be a special one as we’ll have over 22 of our members in town to celebrate Dia de Los Muertos, mezcal, and all things Oaxaca. Our members will be in town from all over the United States, including Los Angeles, Denver, Chicago, New York City, Baltimore, Ft. Lauderdale and more. And since our friends in Oaxaca have always been so generous, and do so much for us while we’re here for the festivities, we thought we’d treat this month’s event as a small thank you. So for our Drammers Oaxaca members this event is on us (its free) and we hope you can join. Consider it a small thank you for our members who are in from out of town.
Of course, we wouldn’t dream of trying to teach our Oaxaca members about mezcal, since nearly all of them work in the industry and know a lot more about it than us! So instead we’ve brought an array of Scotch, Bourbon, world whiskey, and even a gin that we’re excited to share with you and see how you like them. Our lineup includes:
Glenmorangie Highland Single Malt Scotch - The Elementa - 14yo New Charred Oak Cask Finish, 43% abv
Amrut Indian Single Malt - Ex-Rye Cask (Drammers barrel pick at cask strength of 60% abv)
Starward Australian Single Malt, aged in big Aussie ex-red wine casks. 55.5% abv, and another private barrel selected exclusively for members of our club.
Frey Ranch Single Barrel Bourbon, a 4 grain bourbon, also a barrel pick exclusive to our club.
High West American Prairie Bourbon - Drammers Single barrel, finished in a Rivesaltes (fortified wine) cask
High West Double Rye - Drammers Single Barrel finished in a Cognac cask
Westland - American Single Malt, Single Barrel #430 (Drammers Barrel Pick), medium peated
Copper & Kings Gin matured in a Sherry Cask
