Nov. 6 - Bunnahabhian with Col and Rodders of 'The Attic - All Islay Whisky'...
PLEASE NOTE - THIS EVENT WAS INITIALLY SET FOR OCT. 17TH BUT HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED TO NOV. 6TH. THIS IS DUE TO THE WHETHER ON ISLAY, ALWAYS UNPREDICTABLE, AND A CHANGE IN THE RESULTING FERRY TIMES ON ISLAY, SUCH THAT ONE OF OUR GUEST SPEAKERS WOULD HAVE BEEN ON A FERRY AT THE THE TIME OF THE EVENT.
Fellow Drammers!
On November 6th, we’ve got a special treat for you — we’ll be tasting some rare Bunnahabhain with Col and Rodgers, co-hosts of The Attic, a whisky series on Youtube which they describe as “Two old farts drinking whisky and having a laugh on the isle of Islay — stuck up in my 1880’s built attic.” Needless to say, they (admirably) don’t take themselves too seriously, which is all the more impressive given that they both work at the Bunnahabhain distillery on Islay! We met them on a recent visit to the distillery, and before long they had us giggling like school kids. Two of the barrels we tasted that day in the warehouse tasting were available in the gift shop, so of course we snapped them up so that we could do something fun with these guys when we got back. The tasting will include 5 samples. One will be a surprise bonus pour of one of our drammers barrel picks, but the first four will be (all Bunnahabhain Islay single malt Scotch…):
Hand-Filled Distillery Exclusive - 2014 single cask matured in a Canasta Butt, 61% abv.
Hand-Filled Distillery Exclusive, Moine PX, 2004 single cask, 52.8% abv (peated)
Toiteach A Dha Single Malt Scotch
12yo Bunnahabhain for reference
This is going to be a lot of fun, and we’re going to stick to their style, so the event will be shorter, and more laid back — more cracking jokes and less questions about fermentation times. :) Btw, we encourage everyone to follow their antics on Instagram (@THEATTICALLISLAY) and to check out their series on Youtube, which you can find here.
We hope you can join us! Please feel free to contact us with any questions.
Cheers,
Drammers Club
