Hello LA Drammers!

We are delighted to invite you to a tasting at 7pm on March 22nd in DTLA with the Global Brand Ambassador for Wolfburn Single Malt Scotch, Mark Westmorland. He’s not often in town, so we jumped at the chance to welcome him to the club (and a big shout out is in order to Sam Green for making this happen!). The address is: 1100 Wilshire Blvd Los Angeles, 90017, Penthouse 3703. As Charlie will be in Scotland during this event, Sam has generously agreed to coordinate in his absence.

We’ll be trying 5 expressions from Wolfburn:

  • Wolfburn, Langskip Single Malt Scotch Whisky 116 Proof

  • Wolfburn, Northland Single Malt Scotch Whisky 92 Proof

  • Wolfburn, Morven Single Malt Scotch Whisky 92 Proof

  • Wolfburn, Aurora Single Malt Scotch Whisky 92 Proof Bottles

  • Wolfburn, 10 Years Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky

If you’re not familiar with the Wolfburn Distillery, this is a great opportunity — they are the Northernmost Scotch distillery on the mainland (as opposed to say HIghland Park, which is on the island of Orkney and the overall Northernmost distillery in Scotland). The original Wolfburn Distillery was founded way back in 1821, and by 1826 they were making quite a bit of whisky (125,000 liters in 1826 according to tax records, making them one of the largest distilleries in the area at that time). That original facility ceased operations sometime in the 1850s or 1860s for unknown reasons, and a new distillery was built approx. 350 meters from the original location in 2013 (releasing their first Scotch in 2016). We’ll have to ask Mark, but our understanding is they draw their water from the same “Wolf Burn” (stream) which of course is where the name comes from.

We hope you can join us! We’ll order in pizza (included) to try to make sure that nobody is drinking on an empty stomach, and as always arranging a ride home is strongly encouraged.

We hope you can join us! Please let us know if you have any questions. Cheers!
