Hello Austin Drammers!

We’re thrilled to invite you to this special tasting on May 21st at 6pm with Compass Box’s Head Whiskymaker, James Saxon. And although James has been making whisky at the company for many years now, he has only recently taken on the role of top whiskymaker, following the shocking announcement in February that founder John Glaser was stepping down. We’ve long heard about this fairly young prodigy of whiskymaking (he joined the company in 2019 and today he’s in his mid-30s). But we’ve never had a chance to meet him until now. Very exciting. James was responsible for creating many of Compass Box’s most hotly sought-after recent releases, including Flaming Heart 2022, No Name, No. 3, Vellichor, and the Extinct Blends Quartet. At this tasting, we’ll be tasting the Extinct Blends Quartet along with our very own Drammers Single Marrying Cask from their Glasgow Blend series (finished in an ex-Cameronbridge cask). It’s wonderful.
