On [RESCHEDULED TO APRIL 4TH] at 5pm Pacific / 8pm Eastern, we’re thrilled to welcome Brendan Coyle, the Master Distiller for High West for a special online tasting and discussion. We’ve assembled some fun bottles to taste, and since the first set of samples sold out so quickly, we’ve gone ahead and added a SET B:
SET B: 10 Expressions. Same as Set A, except:
The Midwinter Night’s Dram Pour is the newer Act 11, Scene 2 (SET A got Act 7, Scene 3)
Although SET B does include this year’s (2023) “The Prisoner” special release, we were NOT able to secure a 2nd bottle of last year’s (2022) Prisoner bottle. So, instead, SET B will get a 2019 single barrel of their Double Rye finished in a Scotch cask for over a year.
SET A (SOLD OUT): 10 Expressions
High West - The Prisoner (2023 Release). A blend of straight bourbons finished in red wine barrels from the celebrated The Prisoner winery. Batch No. 23H01. 51% abv.
High West - The Prisoner (2022 Release). We thought it would be fun to compare these two rare releases. This is Batch No. 22G12.
High West Cask Collection. We picked up this limited release at the distillery. It features a blend of straight bourbon releases finished in cabernet sauvignon barrels. It’s a little hard to read the label, but it appears to be Batch no. 23D21.
High West - High Country (2018 release). We’ll have to confirm with Brendan, but we’re pretty sure this is first batch of their American Single Malt, made entirely in house.
High West - High Country (2024 release). This release has changed so much from its initial launch, we thought it would be fun to compare discuss how it’s changed.

Please note: We had initially hoped to include two additional pours — the older Campfire release that was all sourced, and the bottled in bond bourbon, but unfortunately we were not able to secure them before the ORIGINALLY SCHEDULED event. NOW THAT THE EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED, WE WILL SEND A SUPPLEMENTAL PACKAGE WITH THE BOTTLED IN BOND RYE, AND WE’RE TRYING TO SECURE THE OLD CAMPFIRE BOTTLE AS WELL.
