Fellow Drammers!
We buy a lot of rare whisky at auction and we often get asked for tips by members who interested in getting into the auction game, so when we heard that our longtime friend and fellow Drammer Ethan Kelley, formerly of Brandy Library and the Spirits Network, had moved over to be the Director of Spirits at Acker as they launched a new auction series focused entirely on spirits, we thought it might be fun to have an event where we looked at the fine art of buying and selling on auctions. Those who follow the auction market closely will know that Acker has long been on the front lines, having made a big name for themselves on the wine side in particular, and those who have been following the news lately will recall that they recently had to do some serious legwork to identify some counterfeit bourbon bottles that had been presented to them, which generated some news. In any case, we’re delighted to welcome back Ethan, who has been a guest speaker for us in his various past roles, and of course he knows as well as any of our members that we like to drink the good stuff here, so we’ve assembled a fun lineup of 5 expression, check it out:
2019 Chichibu, Ichiro’s Malt, US edition
Blanton’s Single Barrel Bourbon, Japanese “Takara Red” edition, aged for an additional 2 years!
Parker’s Heritage Collection Bourbon, 12th Edition - Orange Curacao FInish! (Although we will be tasting a legendary lineup for our event with the Heaven Hill master distillers on July 31st, this is one of the Parker’s Heritage bottles we won’t be tasting at that event…
Smoke Wagon Uncut and Unfiltered, a sourced/blended whiskey from our friends in Nevada that has been generating a lot of buzz!
Cragganmore 12yo Single Malt Scotch 40% abv.
That’s our lineup! We hope you can join us!
