Our friends at Barrell Craft Spirits have launched a new product line, Stellum, and take our word for it, it is making some big, big waves in the market (let’s just say, keep your eye on the news). Unlike their releases under the Barrell Craft Spirits line, which are intended to focus on unique, unusual expressions. the idea here is to make something that tastes great but can also be made consistently on a larger scale, which will no doubt be a relief to anyone who has trouble hunting down one of their often hard-to-find award-winning releases! Of course, we were proud to select a barrel under their Private Release line last year, the Kentucky Whiskey Finished in a St. Agrestis Amaro Cask, along with picking up some cases of our runner-up pick (finished in a pear cask), and we’ve watched in awe as they continue to come out with exceptional and truly unique releases, like their recent incomparable Seagrass release. So of course we jumped at the chance to celebrate their new product line, and are proud to announce that we’re going to be selecting a barrel of their whiskey as a club! So, here’s how it will work. They’ve got four expressions in the Stellum line — their bourbon, their rye, their single barrel bourbon and their single barrel rye. Everyone who signs up will get those 4 expressions. Then we’ll get a limited supply of barrel pick samples to choose from — not enough for everyone, unfortunately, but we’ll select names out of a hat at random from those who sign up, and they will be the barrel pick committee who will select their favorite by majority vote. Very exciting, and we can’t thank our friends at Barrell Craft Spirits enough for entrusting us with a barrel pick!

For our guest speakers, we’re thrilled to welcome back Will Schragis, their Chief Product Innovation Officer and Chief Sales Officer, and Eva Mulcahy, their Senior Brand Development Manager (both of whom joined us for our last event with them last Fall)!

Note, this is a hybrid in person and online tasting — those of you in the NYC area are welcome to join us in person at Travel Bar in Brooklyn (the online event will start at 8pm, and people joining in person are welcome to come early). For everyone else, you’re welcome to sign up online and we’ll distribute samples as usual. We’ll have some light snacks on hand for those of you joining in person. We’ve found that for the hybrid events, a shorter presentation seems to work better, so we’ll aim to keep the online portion closer to one hour long.
