Fellow Drammers!

We’re getting things started again at our Paris chapter! We had our first Paris chapter meeting on August 9, 2018, and our last meeting before the pandemic was back in February 2020 (pictured here). That was probably our best event yet! We’re excited to pick things up where we left off — and so happy that our friends at Bunker 105 have agreed to host us again. We've put together a fantastic lineup, which will include at least 7 spirits (probably more), including:

  • Glen Grant 23yo Single Barrel. First up is an independent bottling of this famous single malt scotch, billed "The Maltman" from Meadowside Blending Co. Ltd., was distilled in July 1995 and bottled in August 2018, making it 23 years old, matured entirely in an oloroso sherry butt. This is a fantastic warm-up bottle for our upcoming online event with their master distiller on July 31st! 53.5% abv.

  • Loch Lomond 21yo Cadenhead's Bottling. The team at Cadenhead's always picks amazing barrels, so we made a point to stop by their shop here in Berlin to pick up this gem, aged for 21 years, technically from 2 casks, a blend of two ex-bourbon hogsheads. 51.5% abv

  • Bruichladdich Octomore 10.2. Next up, Bruichladdich will be bringing the heat with their famous super heavily peated Octomore line, this one a travel retail only release (everything in the ".2" line is). Bottled at a delightful 56.9% abv, and again a nice warm up for our upcoming online event with their distillery team in August!

  • Glenmorangie The Tayne. Speaking of Travel Retail exclusives, our friends at The Glenmorangie Company have this doozy out on the market, part of their travel retail-only Legends Collection. The wizard that he is, Dr. Bill Lumsden, their Director of Distilling and Whisky Creation, took Glenmo initially aged in ex-bourbon barrels and then finished them in Amontillado sherry, part of the bottle's tribute to the Spanish Armada. 43% abv.

  • Glen Scotia - 2021 Campbeltown Malts Festival Botting! This one is hot off the presses. We're huge fans of this famous distillery, located in the Campbeltown region of Scotland, which each year in May hosts a festival for the area's whisky, though of course it was cancelled this year. Each distillery releases a special bottling just for the festival, and Glen Scotia has just released this year's bottling, a 10 year old, unpeated single malt, finished in first fill Bordeaux red wine casks. Bottled at 56.1%, this single malt combines the Glen Scotia distillery character of maritime influence, fruity notes with a hint of spice, married with succulent red berries, citrus and sweet honey.

That's our lineup! And we'll add two or three more day of for sure. We’re keeping prices low for this event (15 Euros per person for Members / 25 Euros per person for Observers and non-members) and as usual we’ll order in pizza which is included in the price.

As always — if any of our members worldwide happy to be in Paris, please feel free to join in the fun. And if not, if you have a friend in Paris that you think would be a good fit for the club, please let us know! As an invite-only members club, we rely on our current members to invite new members, and everyone is encouraged to do so! :)

Cheers!
