Hello Louisville and Indy Drammers!

On Friday, July 1st at 11am, we’re taking a field trip to the Starlight Distillery, and they are hooking us up bigtime. Lunch at the lovely restaurant is included, plus a tour with the team, meeting their Master Distiller, a chance to try a bunch of rare samples, and more. This was initially something our Indy members have been keen to do for a while now, though the distillery is between them and Louisville and is actually closer to our Louisville members! Sean, the head of our Drammers Indy chapter (who is a major Starlight fan) is reaching deep into his collection to pull out some of their long-gone rare releases, including:

  • Starlight’s Pear Brandy (now extinct - those trees have since been cut down)

  • Carl T. Huber’s Cigar Batch (Russell’s Renegades & JHOB)

  • Single Barrel of their bourbon finished in Scotch Whisky barrels

  • Rye whiskey finished in VDN barrels (Rarebird 101)

  • Bourbon finished in Honey Barrels

And that’s in addition to what the distillery ends up pulling out! So excited for this. The cost is just $15/person for Members and $20/for Observers. That doesn’t include transportation though (let us know if you want to join in a carpool, obviously all attendees are responsible for themselves and should not drink and drive!
