Hello Copenhagen Drammers!
We're excited to invite you to our kickoff whisky tasting to launch Drammers Copenhagen this Friday, the 27th of January. We've got a great lineup of rare whisky and other spirits we'll be tasting at the event, including rare single casks of Japanese whisky, bourbon, a barrel of brandy aged in a tequila cask, and even two single barrels from Denmark's own Stauning distillery that our club bought exclusively for our members. More details on what we'll be drinking below, and we'll be adding a bottle or two to the lineup for sure. You can also find more information about our club below, including upcoming online events, in person events and group trips to Scotland, Kentucky, Oaxaca Mexico and more. Some of the Bottles We’ll Be Drinking at the Event:
Kaiyo Japanese Whisky, Mizunara Cask Matured (2 different Single Casks). We just picked up two fun single barrels of Kaiyo Japanese whisky, both matured in Japanese Mizunara oak casks, and boy they couldn’t be any different, one has rich notes that are reminiscent of gin - hard to believe but it’s true. They’re both unchillfiltered and bottled at cask strength of 56% abv.
Stauning Danish Whisky - 2 Drammers-Exclusive Single Barrels. Our latest picks to arrive are these two special single barrels from Stauning Danish Whisky -- a double oaked floor malted rye, and a peated single malt whisky, both selected by a majority vote of our members during a special online tasting event and distillery tour of Stauning. We're extremely proud to say that our barrels are the very first single barrels Stauning released in the United States.
Copper & Kings Brandy - Finished in a Tequila Cask. This barrel pick recently arrived from the Copper & Kings distillery in Louisville, Kentucky. They specialize in American brandy and here we've got a single barrel of brandy aged in a tequila cask, bottled at cask strength of 62.5% abv. It is available exclusively to members of our club for $70/bottle.
High Wire Distilling Co. - Benton's Smoked Jimmy Red Bourbon Whiskey. Our friends at the High Wire Distillery in Charleston have released this distillery-only expression, partnering with Benton's, the producer's of the famous smoked bacon, to smoke their already unique Jimmy Red corn bourbon! You have to see the pictures of how they do it to believe it. Super yummy, and super unqiue. 45% abv.

What Is Drammers Club?
If you’re new to Drammers, welcome! We're a whisky and spirits club that started in 2013, and today we organize regular tastings like this in over 40 cities around the world, currently extending across the United States, Mexico, Canada, the UK, Europe, Turkey, Israel, India and Singapore! We are an invite-only club, which is mostly just to make sure that everyone is on the same page about drinking responsibly and being friendly. Anyone who has been to one of our events is welcome to invite their friends to join, including at our other cities around the world.
If you know a lot about whiskey, you’ve come to the right place, there are a lot of us here, ha. But it’s okay if you don’t know anything about whiskey too — we can teach you that easily enough. We try to host events in each of our chapter cities approximately every 8 weeks or so in person, and we also host regular online events and group trips for a chance to meet some of your fellow Drammers around the world.
We also do barrel picks — a lot of them! We’ve done 85 barrel picks in the last couple of years, with a lot more in the works, that are available exclusively to members of our club, including one that is currently available exclusively to our members in Europe.
