Hello Washington DC Drammers!
We hope everyone is having a great 4th of July weekend! Just a quick reminder that our ultra-rare mezcal and Mexican rum event is coming up this Tuesday, July 7th at 7pm with guest speaker Maya Laouani (Location: The Oddfellows lodge at 701 24th St NW 20037). Maya is the brand ambassador for 5 Sentidos Mezcal, which is not only one of the top independent bottlers of mezcal, but they were actually the first brand to ever release an uncertified mezcal ("Distillate of Agave") outside of Mexico. There's a story there, ha, we'll get into it at the event. And in addition to that, they recently launched a hugely anticipated new series of independent bottlings of Mexican rum from Veracruz, Oaxaca and Jalisco. It's a very limited initial run, and you'll be the first people in our club to try it anywhere, along with 3 batches of very, very rare mezcal we selected for our club. We had the pleasure of traveling to Oaxaca to spend a week with the 5 Sentidos team last August, and Maya is a true badass, she knows a ton about mezcal, and she's a great presenter.
We hope you can join us! We’ll order in light food which is included in your ticket (likely pizza) and as always we ask that everyone arrange a ride home — after all, we’ll be trying at least 9 expressions!
