This is an event that has been looooooong in the making, and we’re so glad that it’s here - we’re throwing a party to celebrate the release of the first three chamber pot still whiskey (a rye) to be made since prohibition! Incredibly, this was the dominant still type used by distilleries pre-prohibition, and yet after prohibition ended, none resumed use of this style of still until Todd Leopold rediscovered it in some old reading materials (Todd is our guest speaker for this event and the master distiller for Leopold Bros. distillery in Denver)! And we are so honored to be able to say that for this commemorative first release, there were only 5,280 bottles created, and they set aside 100 bottles exclusively for our members! We should more details on how members can secure their bottle soon, but in the meantime, we are gearing up for this fantastic event.
We last welcomed Todd at our massive kickoff Zoom event on April 2nd of last year, and a couple months prior we had visited him at his distillery, where we got to try the still-maturing 3 chamber pot still whiskey straight from the cask. We’ve been counting the seconds until it was ready to throw a big party to celebrate, and that day will be August 16th at 5pm Pacific / 8pm Eastern. We are in the process of assembling the lineup for the event, which will at least include the 3 Chamber release, their 5yo Bottled in Bond bourbon, their 4yo straight bourbon, their American Small Batch Whiskey, and some other fun stuff (we’re trying to track down their Maryland Style rye, for example). We’ll fill in the details on those final bottles when we have them, in the meantime, we hope you can join us!
