Apr. 25: Drammers Los Angeles with Founder of Found North Canadian Whiskey...

Hello LA Drammers!

Our next rare whiskey tasting in Los Angeles will be on April 25th at 7pm, and this month we’re meeting in Santa Monica (thanks to Elisa and Alec for hosting!). Their address is: 1528 Princeton St., Unit 2, 90404.

At this event we’ll be welcoming Nick Taylor, one of the co-founders of Found North, a Canadian Independent bottler (17 and 18 year old cask strength Canadian rye anyone!). They’re a fairly new company, and have been seriously turning some heads. We recently hosted events with them at our chapters in Chicago and Indianapolis, which were a big hit. At this tasting, we’ll be tasting through 7 to 8 expressions — some of them we know, some of them will be surprise single barrels, etc. Here are the bottles we know about:

• Batch 003 - Cask Strength 17yr Rye

• Batch 004 - Cask Strength 18yr Whisky (winner of the John Barleycorn best whisky of the year 2022)

• Batch 005 - Cask Strength 8yr Whisky (27% 8yr wheat 73% 21yr corn)

• Batch 006 - Cask Strength 17yr Whisky

Nick will also be bringing some single barrels and hints that we can “probably sneak peak a couple of other upcoming whiskies as well”. I love the sound of that.

And thanks to the generosity of our friends at Found North, the event will only cost $15/person for members, $25/person for observers/ non-members. As usual, we’ll order in some light food (included, likely pizza). We hope you can join us! Please let us know if you have any questions
