If you're available Tuesday, February 4th at 7pm, join us as we sit down with Dave Schmier, the founder of the innovative bourbon and rye company Proof & Wood. We're going to meet him at the cocktail bar Trash Panda (515 Patton St, Houston, TX 77009). Free to join us and please feel free to bring along friends -- I expect Dave may generously buy us a round of drinks or two, or you can order what you want and just hang out! If you're thinking of joining, please reply to give me a heads up to keep a lookout for you.
A little more info on our guest speaker: Dave Schmier is one of a small handful of people who led the resurgence of rye whiskey in the United States in the early 2000s when he created and built Redemption Rye. He later sold that company and launched a portfolio of bourbon and rye brands under a new Proof & Wood label (Tumblin' Dice, Deadwood, the DC series "The Senator", "The Justice" etc. along with many others).
In case you're wondering why we're switching up the format for this month's event, it's simply because our fearless leader Kerim is out of town this week. But we didn't want to miss this opportunity to welcome Dave in Houston, so we decided to do something more informal anyway. I'll be in Texas that full week (we're hosting events with Dave in Austin on the 5th and in Dallas on the 6th).
