Hello NYC Drammers!

You’re invited to join us for a special tasting on Sunday, February 2nd at 7pm — we’ll be tasting through a whopping 9 expressions with our guest speaker Louise McGuane, founder of JJ Corry Irish Whiskey. She’s flying in from Ireland for this event in honor of the launch of a Drammers-exclusive custom blend of JJ Corry, which a group of Drammers created before an event we had with Louise in Charlotte, NC in July of 2024. It has just arrived to the United States and we could not be more proud to launch it with our members in NYC at this event. That is one of 9 expressions that we’ll be tasting at this event. Louise will also be bringing with her 5 other rare bottlings, the “Bespoke Bonders” series (for each of the 5 bottlings in that series, only 600 bottles were available in total globally). Here’s the full lineup:

  • Drammers Exclusive - Custom Blend. This will be the launch party for our own JJ Corry private blend!

  • Bespoke Bonders Series. Each is 50% abv, 600 bottles globally.

    • Single Grain Irish Whiskey

    • Single Malt Irish Whiskey

    • Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey

    • Malt/Grain Blend

    • Malt/Pot Still Blend

  • Flintlock #5 - 21yo. This award-winning single malt Irish whiskey is aged in ex-bourbon casks, then finished in a Fino sherry from Jerez, Spain. 1,200 bottles released globally, 46% abv.

  • The Gael. This flagship release from JJ Corry has always been a bright fruit bomb or orchard fruits. The whisky is aged in a mix of Irish single malt and grain whiskeys aged in bourbon and sherry casks, and reportedly using a very wide range in terms of age — a mix of parcels aged as little as 5 years and as much as 30 years, which are some of the oldest components in JJ Corry’s warehouses. 46% abv.

  • The Hanson. The other of JJ Corry’s two flagship releases is a different beast altogether, composed entirely of Irish grain whiskeys that Louise and the team have collected from distilleries across Ireland. We used to say this expression was aged entirely in ex-bourbon casks (1st and 2nd fill), but now their website claims it was aged in ex-bourbon and former “American Craft Whiskey casks”. Does that mean ex-American Single Malt? Something else? We’ll have to ask Louise about that at this event. 46% abv.

That’s our lineup, we hope you can join us! The event will take place at Charlie and Summer’s apartment in the East Village as usual (please reach out if you don’t have the address). We’ll order in pizza, which is included with your ticket, and as always we strongly encourage everyone that will be driving home to arrange a ride home. Please feel free to reach out with any questions!

Cheers,
Charlie and Drammers Club
