There are so many great things to do in Oaxaca, you really can’t go wrong. And no matter how much you try to squeeze in, you won’t be able to see anywhere near all of it. If you’ll be in town for just a day or two, you could easily choose to just walk around the city center, enjoying the festivities, the world-famous food (or even cooking classes!), the plentiful arts and crafts scene, the gardens, etc. A trip to the extraordinary local ruins (Monte Alban) is as easy as hopping in a cab — it’s only 30 minutes away, and you can hire a tour guide easily on arrival (and a taxi back). And of course we have “official” wedding events Saturday night, Sunday night and all day Monday.

You can find and do all of those things on your own easily. The one thing you will likely NOT be able to find on your own easily is connecting to the real Oaxacan mezcal and whisky scene. Don’t get us wrong — there will be people trying to sell you that everywhere you turn, but (to put it mildly) most of what you’ll find offered to tourists is garbage. Luckily, this is the area we have put the most energy into over the last 7 years of coming here regularly, so we have set up optional additional events targeted just to that. You certainly do not need to do all of them — if you do, there might not be much time for all the other things Oaxaca has to offer. But if you are interested, we are delighted to invite you to join us for these events. Just FYI, since we’ve put these together fairly last minute, we need to know right away if you’d like to join.
